Happy B-day Jali

thanksblushblush
I always want to draw things for people's birthdays not because I think my art is a very good present but just because I don't really have anything else to give. And nowadays I can't even manage that much, sorry about that.

But enough of my excuses, HOPE YOUR BIRTHDAY HAS BEEN INCREDIBLY SNAZZY THUS FAR.

ALSO TELL ME WHAT YOU GOT.

~HAPPY BIRTHDAY~
tldr
Let's say that you were given the choice to go on a spaceship that would take a round trip to a star ten light years away. The ship would be traveling just under the speed of light.

It will feel like twenty years to you for the round trip, but by the time you return to earth it will be over one hundred years later and your friends and family will be dead.

Would you do it?
Would you leave everyone behind to see the future?
Would it be worth it?
Would curiosity get the better of you?
How would you feel if someone you knew decided to do it?
Would you do it if you could bring key people along?
Is the idea entirely unappealing in the first place?
Would you go insane being stuck on a space ship for twenty years?
Would jumping forward to an earth more advanced in politics and technology frighten you?
Excite you?
How would you feel if you came back to earth and saw it had devolved into chaos?
How would you feel if you came back to earth and met your friends' and relatives' kids?

Hey, at least this time I'm not asking you guys about eating people.
ughhhh
...and working on a paper proposal for it as well. I'm a slow reader okay shut up.

If you're online right now and happen to read this, wish me luck and hope I don't pass out. Seriously, I am such a sleep addict. I need my seven hours a night man.

God, I was such a little dumbass in middle school though. It's amazing how a book can be ten times more engaging after the small shift from stupid teenager to stupid young adult. It's also embarrassing.

This is a really weird entry.

whut
So because of my anthropology class and Fallout 3 (this will make sense in a second) this question has been bothering me, so just...yeah.

You can ignore this if you want. )

IN OTHER NEWS:

God why did I make this entry.

For the record, I miss talking to everyone on MSN and am looking forward to Thanksgiving break so much you don't even
AND NO WE WILL NOT BE SERVING SOYLENT GREEN THIS YEAR

You know how it goes when...

...your classes get into this pattern where every time an exam in one class is done with an exam in another class is looming on the horizon, and by the time you get all of your exams out of the way the second round of exams has started?

Yeah.

So anyway, what's up gu

South Asian history is great
But the book is something I hate.
It's stack upon stack
of fact upon fact.
It makes it hard to concentrate.

And now some fanart of...oh just guess. )

Some dude loaned me Portal.

JUST THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW.

The chances of me ever getting to play this game before summer were slim, so this can definitely be regarded as 'awesome' and other wonderful words. It also warrants an entry.

Can't stop here, this is bat country.

  • Sep. 30th, 2009 at 12:28 PM
ughhhh
If by "bat" we mean "oh god where did the time go."

So yeah, I want to stay on top of my work and have time for my tablet and the vidya, so don't expect to hear much from me unless something is particularly memorable. WHAT ELSE IS NEW. I'll try to keep updated on all your entries whether I have time to form a coherent comment or not though.

Blah blah blah who cares.

Oh look a Hetalia dewdle. This will make more sense if you've seen Felidae. )

01. If you've been tagged, you must write your answers in your own LJ and replace any question that you dislike with a new, original question.
02. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you. Screw you I do what I want.

I was just kidding in the title there. I could never forget your name, vanilla. )

I like my tablet.

I did a meme.

Wow, I didn't know I missed drawing this much. Too bad it turned out like SHIT because photoshop kept blurring the edges of my pencil tool and also I can't draw.

Also this meme was really self-indulgent.

I JUST REALIZED I SHOULD BE STUDYING FOR ANTHRO TOMORROW.

SO UH END OF ENTRY.

...so here is the first installment of a few choice pictures from my road trip this summer.

50 points per state/national park you can name. Except for number five, that's cheating. )

Expect me to indulge myself by bugging you guys with more A LOT LOT MORE some other time.

Damn my social anxiety!

I keep futzing up my chances to talk and get to know people. Dude wanted to see Inglorious Basterds with me but couldn't today, so he was sitting around playing videogames with his friends, I could have talked to all of them and introduced myself but noooooo I have to run off after a few words like a ninny. Why so hikikikikikomori.

I FIGURE THAT NOW THAT I'M BACK ON LIVEJOURNAL AGAIN I SHOULD PROBABLY USE ITS PUBLIC RANTING CAPABILITIES TO THEIR FULL...CAPABILITIES.

In other news, I have nothing to do because I did everything I was supposed to do.
I...I didn't procrastinate this time. I bought everything I need to buy. I read the 31 pages I needed to read for my anthropology class. I know where all my classes are. I...I have nothing to worry about until classes start. The lack of stress...the lack of things to stress over...I feel so empty.

Is this what people who don't procrastinate feel like all the time?

Universe...are you telling me that:

A) My dorm mate is pleasant and we can communicate well?

B) The way she wanted the dorm room set up was the exact way I wanted it set up, complete with my own little alcove in the back and a window with a sixth story view?

C) The showers and bathrooms are nicer, bigger, and prettier?

D) When I realized too late that I was taking two anthropology courses (one general, one archeology) and that these classes had the exact same teacher, that when I looked online and decided to check out to see if an astronomy class was open because I really wanted to take one but they were always filled up almost immediately, that not only was one single class open but that its lecture and discussion times fit almost exactly with the times of one of the anthro classes I wanted to drop?

E) All of this happened to me?

Wow, Universe. You sure know how to treat a lady.
There are some downsides, though, such as the shitty internet connection and the elevator which requires you to use your key to select a floor and also the fact that I'm coming down with a cold only a few days before classes start.

tldr
I have a flight at midnight that will take me back to school, that will be fun.

Just thought I'd write a post now so that you can all remember me as the whimsical carefree girl you knew, before...

Also saw District 9 today.
It was pretty good.
And. Uh. Yeah.
CGI was fabulous, though sometimes the gore looked too sparse and fake when certain mooks were exploded, so to speak. Emi and I agreed that it was a good movie and then immediately went home and read Christopher's blog and FFFFFFFFF'd together when reading about him having two children and then looked on DA and saw Mary Sue fanart and one of the aliens drawn with boobs. Good times.

Also also, just gotta say that Wikus was a pretty fabulous main character. A pretty nice blend of ignorant douchebag and hero.

Oh, and I saw Ponyo the other day. And realized after the movie that there was no actual plot. And the grating little girl voice was...grating. But that's okay because Fujimoto.

I have so many movies I need to watch this year but don't have time for. Goddammit.

'Sup.

Uhhhhhhh.

UHHHHHHH.

There's too much to say. This summer was pretty cool. M'yup.

I took lots of pictures but I haven't uploaded them to this computer yet so here, have an artistic interpretation of Old Faithful instead.

Also, if you guys could summerize your summer (ignore the pun) in three words or less, what would that word be?

EDIT: lol@my previous entry
I'm such a flake.

I'M BACK BABY
